today we worked on the first wednesday challenge for the first time.

8/24/15 This is my first real journal entry. today we are going into the shop to work with mr. miller. we are measureing things. i am getting good measurements.
8/25/15 today we are trying to go live. it isnt working but we are trying. we are also grabing the pictures off of neatos page and putting them
on the websites.
8/26/15 today it is wednesday and we are working on our bridges. we are trying to make our bridge the best and i will have the wednesday challenge form in my site when we finish.
8/27/15 today we have a sub so we are working on jpl. we still dont know our design but we know the challenge rules
8/28/15 today we have the sub still and we are watching myth busters. i will have a form here ---->

8/31/15 today i went in to the shop to the shop to work with mr miller. we cut 2 peices but then i had to clean up the saw. the liquid is a really bad color and we have to replace it.
9/1/15 today is tuesday and it is a average tuesday. we are working on websites jacob is here and he is checking websites.
9/2/15 it is the final day for wednesday challenge and we got a score of 1.7 we got third place but if kevins group cant remake their group we get 2nd place.
9/3/15 today we are working on invention challenge for the first day.
9/8/15 today is the first day back from the long wekkend and we are thinking up and starting making our own ideas for the challenge. we each have to make our own ideas.
9/9/15 today is a wednesday challenge but we dont have to do it because we are working on our jpl designs. i am making a football cannon.
9/10/15 today is the last day of invention chalenge because tomorow we have to present my idea is hard to sketchup so i am making a drawing.
9/11/15 today we are presenting and i havent been called yet most people went but i am going on monday.
9/14/15 today i presented my idea of the football cannon. i think it went well. i drew my idea on the white board and people understood it. i also used the stand that
nick braught in and i showed that as a example. i am doing a cannon using wheels to propel the ball. i think it will work but kevin did the best sketchup.
9/15/15 today we were working on our websites because the class is working on sketchup so we have to continue with our websites. i am now all caught up with the entries so now i need pictures. i think i am going to make a sketchup and address
some club pictures.
9/16/15 today there is a wednesday challenge so we are judging. it is alvan kevin cole and i. we are judging the math class wednesday challenge. we only got to half the presentations. i dont really feel good today.
9/17/15 i was sick today.i just slept all day. i feel really bad.
9/18/15 today we were trying to work on jpl but the rookies are not working much and alot of them are playing games.
9/21/15 today coal was gone so we tried to figure out what our real design was. at the end we thaught everything was ok.
9/22/15 well today coal got to school and showed us how wronge we were so now we have no idea again. we will hopefully work on it tomorrow.
9/23/15 today we split into the 2 groups. our group is for a 3 shot air cannon. the other group is for a football cannon. we are getting ready for mr. wilton.
9/24/15 today we have to get ready for mr wilton we are making sketchups of a propane tanks because that is what we are using to hold all of the air with a special clamp so it can go to all three cannons.
More JPL Stuff
9/25/15 today mr.wilton came and showed us the flaws of our design. we also told him what we should do next with the jpl project. one group is going to make a field and one is going to start a prototype.
9/28/15 today dr neat told us some of us need to split off of jpl and put more on our website . alot of people got kicked out and i didnt have enough of jpl on my website.
9/29/15 today i was kicked out of jpl because my website wasnt complete so i am now fixing my website. i am adding alot of stuff so that i can hopefully get back in jpl. i am adding all the stuff dr.neat says we need.

10/1/15 today i feel like (insert bad word here.) i am going home and i am just going to sleep. today i just sat home and blew my nose. dr.neat always says that if we just picked our noses all day tell him that so i will today i

. i did this by taking a kleenex brand tishcues and blew air out of my nose into the tisue.
10/2/15 today i was sick still. i went to the er and almost got a cat scan but i didnt because they found out it was migrains.
10/5/15 last friday i was sick so today i am working on catching back up. we have been told we have to make a testing method because 4th period has a testing method and we have to test it. also today dr neato told us
about the new wednesday challenge
that is going to be going on all week. that is about all we have done today and my wednesday challenge group is nick and kiyila.
10/6/15 today i build a target for the jpl testing. it is just a box but we also have to find a way to test our device wich is not easy because we dont have a device.
10/7/15 today was the first day of testing the 4th periods device but it dint go well. we thaught we were testing what speed was the best but we were supposed to test how accurate it is. so that was the first problem.
the second problem was that alvin didnt record it right and made a complex diagram about the shots and noone could read it. so we have to test more.
10/8/15 today we are retesting and we are recording it right and we are testing it right. we did 20 shots with the red ball at 30mph and 20 shots with the blue ball at 30mph. i will have the results here -->

10/9/15 wednesday challenge today and we are not going to do well. i couldnt buy the board until the day befor so we had to build our bridge on friday. our bridge did really bad because it was rushed and we should have been more prepared.

10/12/15 today is monday and we are going over the grades. i need to work on my website again because i got kicked out of jpl. so today i am working on adding everything back onto my website.
10/13/15 today we are working on our websites and i am trying to get back into jpl. we are also working on a sketchup of a pencil and i wasnt going to do it but i decided i wanted to make one so i made a quick version that isnt really to scale but it looks cool still.
10/14/15 today we are duing wednesday challenge but kiayla and i arnt doing it and we arnt judges either we are just collecting the data. we are not doing anything but get the data.
10/15/15 today i am working on my website so that i can get back into jpl and when i finally finished but it was at the end of class so i didnt get to help today.
10/16/15 today we tested for mr wilton and it looked like it wasnt going to work but when the whole class came out it worked 5/6 times. we were very happy.
10/19/15 today we tested the machine and it did not work well. we tried to get the cannon not move and we did well when we used sandbags and a vice. it is acurate when we use it right but when we dont it isnt very good.
10/20/15 today we are trying to figure out what to do with jpl. we have hit a wall. we are making a new sketchup but for now we dont have anything to do with jpl so i am going to fix my website. i tried to add a gif but it isnt working so i will try again soon
but i am working on jpl today so i dont have time for the gif right now.
10/21/15 today we made a protoype and it is like the prototype that is on kevins website. it is basically a cardboard tube with a smaller tube working as the jaming rod. we place a ball inside and pull back on the bunji and let go and it launches the ball forword. we wanted
to test how acurate it was but we only had a few minutes left so cole did some sket shooting were i through up a rhino ball and he hit it with a tenis ball and it worked very well. we hit most of the time and when we tried to shoot a rhino ball into a trashcan we hit it 5 times in a row.
i think this prototype is really working well but im not sure how it will work when we get a larges scale version. we are also trying to make a stand for it. we are using post office metal but really it would be way more efficient to just cut it and bolt it or weld it and we could finish it three times
over with welding or bolts.
10/22/15 today coal and mister miller left for vacation so we have to start without them. we are seeing what parts we need and what we have.
10/23/15 today we are doing a shooting test infront of the class and we got two out of three shots. we let some people shoot but they broke it.
10/26/15 today we are starting to cut the parts for the build and it is hard because we cant use power tools. it is going very slow.
10/27/15 today we are continuing on the build but it is hard with no power tools we are all getting mad because it is so slow and tensions are rising.
10/28/15 today mister miller got back and gave us a talk about how we all got mad. we then put me incharge so we cleaned the shop tomorrow we will continue cutting with the real tools.
10/29/15 we have no school tomorrow so we are working hard to get the pieces done. we are finishing alot of stuff today and we are moslty done.
10/30/15 NO SCHOOL
11/02/15 we are still working on the jpl stuff but i am working on my computer because my computer broke so i have to work off of flashdrive. plus the space bar is broken. this sucks :(
11/03/15 we finished all the pieces for the device and we are going to assemble it tomorrow. i cut most of the 4x4
11/04/15 we are assembaling today and i am working on my website i am also helping drill the holes.
11/09/15 last friday we finished the device and now we are going to start some testing. we dont have a stand and we dont have both the devices yet.
11/10/15 we are still testing and working on a sketchup for the stand and the next cannon.
11/11/15 today we are doing more testing because we really need to see how accurate it is and it is going well. i have started cutting for the second cannon
11/12/15 today we are all cutting the wood to make the next cannon and we all finished the cuts.
11/13/15 today we are presenting to mr wilton and he doesnt like the fact we are still building. he said the next week we should only test so we are only going to test.
11/16/15 today we have scraped the idea of a stand and a second cannon so we are testing with a table.
11/17/15 today we are testing and marking lines on the wood to show were we need to prop the cannon up and with what. that way we can easily prop it up.
11/18/15 we are now continueing testing and doing time trials for the competion.
11/19/15 more time trials and more basic fixes to the device. ine 2X4 broke so we replaced it.
11/20/15 we showed the class the time trial today. we got 70 points.
12/7/15 today we got the final challenge and it is the same as last year. tomarrow we start designing the bridge.
12/8/15 today we designed a idea for the final.
12/9/15 today we finished the design and handed it in.
12/10/15 today we got the design and it sucks. it is 9 ft tall and 8ft long.
12/11/15 today we are building and it is not fun. it is so big.
12/14/15 we are building and we have given up. i also finished my essay. jpl essay
