This is my first entry to my website for year 3 :).Mr miller came to us wondering if we wanted to do a safety video. we are making a video on the key safety rules
Today is Tuesday the 16th
We are working on making a rough draft of the video and what points we want to add. i think this is called story boarding
Wednesday the 17th.
We are doing the bridge and we are testing one of our designs. it failed very quickly. it didnt hold any weight.
Thursday the 18th
We tested another design and it was too short. i am trying to help my group but i dont want to take over.
Friday the 19th.
We finished filming and sam is going to edit. this video is going to be super funny.
Monday the 22nd
. Today we have gotten the jpl challenge so we are all really excited to get to work on our device. we have to move a cup of water to another cup. we are already thinking of cool ideas.
Tuesday the 23rd
I am thinking of ideas for our device and i think it might work. my idea is a car that slaps a lid on the cup then drives into position. we are now discussing all of the other possible ideas and i am presenting my idea to the others.
Wednesday the 24th
today we are going over all the ideas in the shop. i am really getting excited. my idea was shot down because it has MANY flaws i didnt account for. that is a perfect exsample of why our group is awesome. we have so many good vets we can easily find the flaws. our new best idea is a arm that swings the cup down with great force so the water doesnt fall out. i am happy with this idea.
Thurseday the 25th
Well. im sick :( i have the flu and it doesnt feel like im going to be well soon. i am just sleeping and watching tv because there is nothing else to do.
Friday the 26th
Sick again. luckily its friday so i have alot of time to rest. im taking alot of naps and drinking lots of water. i also asked cole to call me when he did jpl so i can listen in on the convorsation but i was asleep when he called.
Monday the 29th.
I am finaly back. we got to see the finished video we made a few weeks ago. it looks good. we also did interest votes on what device we all want to work on and i picked the arm device.
thursday the 1st.
we are testing a prototype of the kevin arm and we are gathering pieces to make the prototype. we are also working to fix the pump.
friday the 2nd.
today mr wilton came and we presented our idea of the funnel. it seems like he likes the idea and dr neat wants us to all share the same funnel.
so today is monday. we did the spaggeti bridge challenge. and my bridge broke before we could put weight on it so i got score of DC.
tuesday the 6th.
we are getting our list of reqs done soon. we are working on a full list right now but eventually we will make one for every device.
wednesday the 7th.
we have a field trip today. we went to "gcc" for the tech week. we just had free food and went on our longboards. it was kind of disapointing because we only made $100. it was alot of fun.
thursday the 8th.
today we are getting ready for mr wilton to come. we are going to present the cads we are working on finishing today. kevin is working on the arm and i am working with him.
friday the 9th.
mr wilton came and looked at our cad. ours wasnt totally finished but he liked ours. some of the other groups were not done yet either.
Monday the 12th.
so we are going to have to have a crappy little prototype soon. we are still working on cad and michael and i are collecting pieces to make a prototype. we are using pvc and wood
tuesday the 13th.
dr neat told us to work on the funnel. he says that is probably the biggest thing we should focus on. i am working on makeing a cardboard funnel with alvin. it is looking good but not done.
wednesday the 14th.
so we are still working on the funnel. i have made the wood stand and alvin and i cut some hardboard. we are tapeing it tomorrow because when we started tapeing the bell rang. it is almost done.
thursday the 15th.
alvin and i finished the funnel. it looks good. we are also working on the prototype because we have to demo tomorrow im excited. kevin is makeing the prototype for us i think.
friday the 16th.
so today we are presenting to the class. mr wilton is not coming today. we are doing a full prototype demonstration. kevin made the prototype at lunch. i was buying lunch so i came in late but i helped alittle. we would have done good but we missed. i could tell the water all stayed in the cup so that is very good. it shows it is going to do what we hoped so we just have to aim better.
monday the 19th.
so today is monday :( this means that i have 5 more days left until friday :( we are working on making kevins prototype better. we are removeing the tape and adding screws. we also changed alot of the particle board to wood. also when you try to make a smiley face like this :) it automatically puts the the other parenthesis and that really makes me mad. that means everytime i do :) it makes it :() so i have to go and remove the other parenthesis. i dont like that
tuesday the 20th.
today i am talking to keyila about his device because he needs some workers.we have about four people on the kevin arm so i thought i could help him. he was cading so i was watching and giveing him imput. it could be the fastest but only if we can get it working. (i have no idea how to spell his name even though we have been friends for two years.)
wednesday the 21th.
we had a guest speaker today and she was talking about internships and obama. it was pretty good but also alittle boring. i found some points good but i disagreed with some. two kids in the front were being disrespectfull and mister miller called them out on it. that was pretty funny because they are very rude to everyone.
thursday the 22nd.
today i am helping with the trash truck cad. i am also trying to update my website BUT none of the computers in the cad cave have any notepad or filezilla. so i had mister milled download them and but then i had no internet so i couldnt do anything. i tried all day to update and still couldnt do it.
Thursday the 6th.
Today i am still taking apart the field pieces i am kind of worried because for wilton i dont have much to say. i hope kevin has something good.
Friday the 7th.
Today we are presenting our full new cad to mr wilton it is fully wood like last week but today we have the improved one that has all axis points and moves.
Monday the 10th.
Today i am taking apart the field pieces from last year for wood. i am then giving them to palmer to cut and then he gives to kevin to put them together. kevin is quite good with a drill.
tuesday the 11th.
Today i am still going to be cutting apart the field pieces. alvin is trying to tell me that i am wrong in how im doing it but when asked he does not have a idea on how to do it better.
wednesday the 12th.
today i am cutting alot of the wood for the kevin arm. the frame is almost done so i am just cutting alot more of the wood today.
Thursday the 13th.
So today i am trying to fix the saw today. i have no clue what is wrong. i did a full internal clean but still not working. there was alot of gunk in it but still wont work. conor might know something.
Friday the 14th.
so today i am tasked with working on cleaning the saw. yesterday i tried my hardest to fix it but still nothing. i dont know what it is. i am going to try to fix it again so i have asked hunter to clean the saw but after a few minuetes he was on his laptop playing games so i have to clean it soon but i am really trying to finish the arm so i can do it after i finish it.
monday the 16th.
so today i am making the metal parts of the kevin arm. conor fixed the saw so now i can cut it.
Tuesday the 18th.
So today palmer and i are welding the metal parts of the kevin arm. my weld went well but because palmers piece was thinner he messes up alittle so we can grind it down.
wednesday the 19rd.
so today we had 23 minuetes fer every period so i just worked to fix the welds palmer made yesterday. he messed up with the settings so it wasnt a great weld.

Wednesday the 9th.
Today we are cutting out the wood for the funnel. michale and i are working together to hold up the board and one of us cuts it.
Thursday the 10th.
today we are cutting out the pieces for the hood of the funel. we got half done yesterday and we are finishing it today. it takes forever because we have to put it on the saw horses and have one person hold it and the other cut it. it is also like 300 degrees out so we are switching out who cuts and who holdes and who helped kevin in the cool shop. kevin is working on coating the funel with the paint and the spray.
Friday the 11th.
Today we are glueing the first side of the funel hood. it is taking forever because we have to bolt it together and then glue it. so michale and i are bolting it together and then we hold it and kevin glues it together. we are only going to get one side done today because it takes so long.
Monday the 14th.
Today is monday and i dont like monday :( we are working on the hood for the the funel but we are having to glue the pieces together and it is taking forever. we also had to do it on friday and it is all dried now.
Tuesday the 15th.
today i am not feeling very good. i dont know whats wrong. i was going to trim my mug in ceramics but the wheels were taken so i made a handle for the wheel. it ended up being ugly so i trashed it. in engineering i worked with kevin on the hood for the funel. he is going to spray it during 6th period. after school i had to wait a hour for my ride so i waited in dr neats but i was really tired and had a headache so i went into the hallway to watch youtube.
Wednesday the 16th.
So today i woke up and i was still sick from yesterday I almost threw up last night and i had a 103 degree fever. i woke up alot last night and slept in my sisters room so i wouldnt get my brother sick and because my sister is at college she wont mind.
Thursday the 17th.
Today i am sick again. i cant eat anything i have a masive headache so i cant really walk around or work on anything so i am stuck in bed doing nothing. i am mostly in bed watching youtube videos and cleaning up our room because it is very messy. my brother doesnt clean up alot so i do all the cleaning. It isnt a very good day
friday the 18th .
I am still sick. it is the third day and i feel like trash. the worst part is i am stuck doing nothing while everyone else is working hard on their devices while i am sick on the last 3 days. the unfortunate part is the last 3 days are probably the most important. today i took a shower and watched the martian. i also ate a whole thing of mashed potatoes because they are soft and it was the only only thing i had had in 3 days so i was very hungry.

Monday the 28th.
Today we were told we had to make a presentation about what happend at the competition. i couldnt do much on the project because i wasnt there so i know about as much as the students. also i couldnt work out during break because i have been sick so i lost alot of weight even though i have had ALOT of food.
Thursday the 29th.
Today we are going over our power point with the class. we are going over what happend at the competition because the whole class couldnt go. i also didnt go because i was very sick. i am really disapointed i couldnt after all the work i put into the device.
wednesday the 30th.
Today there is a wednesday challenge but alot of the vets havent finished their websites so we are working on that right now. the cad cave is full of vets with alot of work to do.
Tuesday the 13th.
today we are working on fixing the tables. we have finished two already adn we are working on table 3/4. it is really making me sick so i have to take lots of breaks outside so i dont get light headed from all the fumes.
wednesday the 14th.
today we are continuing work on cleaning up the shop. i am working on my website instead of the tables because the fumes are making me sick.
